Description

This course is designed to introduce the foundation of radiography and the technologist’s role in the delivery of healthcare. This course will examine the importance of patient care, including consideration for the patient’s physical and psychological needs. Ethical and legal aspects of patient care are discussed. Routine and emergency patient care procedures are described, as well as infection control procedures using standard precautions. The role of the radiographer in patient education is identified. Laboratory simulations and demonstrations will be performed to teach proper patient transfer and venipuncture techniques.
