The objective of this program is to prepare graduates for entry-level positions as a Dental Assistant and related clinical and administration careers. Graduates are trained to assist the dentist with patient procedures, expose and develop radiographs, prepare instruments, and perform lab procedures. Graduates will be able to keep and manage the records required for a dental office. The curriculum in this short-term program is limited to basic skills; so graduates may need additional training and/or experience to qualify for some positions. The completion of this program could also be used as an opportunity to maintain existing employment or advance in a career.

Graduation Requirements:
A student must have an overall “C” (2.0) grade point average and satisfactorily complete all requirements. (See section in catalog entitled, “Graduation Requirements”.)
I understand that the Dental Assisting program includes laboratory and/or clinical courses that may expose students to ionizing radiation. I understand that the program maintains a pregnancy policy consistent with applicable federal and state radiation protection requirements and ABHES standards.
Pregnancy disclosure is voluntary and must be made in writing to the Program Director. A student who voluntarily discloses a pregnancy may withdraw the disclosure in writing at any time. Following disclosure, the student may continue in the program without modification, request available lab/clinical reassignment or other modifications, or request a leave of absence in accordance with College policy.
Students who disclose a pregnancy may seek counseling from a qualified individual. Upon written disclosure, the student will be provided a fetal dose monitor and instructions for its use in accordance with applicable radiation safety requirements.
